meet kate + ryan

Kate & Ryan are no strangers to weddings - starting with celebrating their own 14 years ago in Cape May. After leaving her career in teaching, Kate dove into the exciting world of wedding photography with her company, Opal & Jaye. Ten years and over 150 incredible weddings later, she fell in love with a rusty old newspaper machine she found on Facebook Marketplace - and The Newslyweds was born.

Ryan jumped on board immediately, excited to dip his toe back into weddings after officiating ceremonies for a number of Opal & Jaye couples. When Ryan’s not carrying the banner, he can be found working as a college professor and school specialist.
